The biggest mistake people make when creating brand strategy

The biggest mistake people make in creating a brand strategy is starting with their logo or their colors.

If you don't start with your core values, your brand strategy is doomed to fail. Because your logo, your colors, your fonts, the aesthetic, everything that you do is supposed to relate back to your core values of what you stand for and how you want your audience to feel.

So before you build your brand strategy, start with your differentiators.

And from there, you'll be able to figure out everything else that uplifts the experience that you want people to have with your brand.

If you start with a logo and colors, that is starting so superficially that even if you're really wedded to that orange and blue, or that red and green or whatever the case may be — if you don't think about the experience your customer is going to have with the brand, it’s not going to work.
