Is Being a Perfectionist Killing Your Content?

Here's the thing. We all want to sound good. We all want to sound smart. We all want to sound articulate.

But at the end of the day, everything you write isn't always going to sound like the best version of what's in your brain. One place where people stall out is when they are so focused on sounding perfect that they just won't share any content whatsoever.

And I will tell you, in my experience, a quest for perfection kills so many more articles, videos, audio segments, than a lack of inspiration ever did.

The inspiration is there. If you write your ideas out, you'll see that you have the ideas already. One thing you can do is just write them down and then you can go back in and refine them later. Don't ignore those ideas just because they're not coming out perfectly on the page.

I have literally been working with thought leaders who are trying to write a book, who because they couldn't get the first paragraph right on the first page, wouldn't write anything else. And I would say go write the middle of the book and we'll come back to that.

Don’t let your creative flow stall out just because you can’t articulate it how you want the first time.
