Here It Is: Permission to Ignore Trending Audio

One of the biggest mistakes that I see business owners make all too often is leaning too hard into what’s “trending”.

Yes, a viral video can boost your metrics, visibility, and followers—and in turn you could get press or increased business.

And so why not try to boost the odds of a viral video with trending audio or dances?

Because not all viral videos are the same.

If you focus on trending —over what you’re sharing with your audience—your strategy could even backfire to where you get a bunch of likes and followers who want you to keep doing “the trending thing” and when you back to your product or service they won’t engage or be interested.

Moreover, studying trends can be time-consuming and distracting (unless you have a team like ours that’s doing it anyways).

Social media trends can be great when they elevate your content, but your #1 goal needs to be focusing on what you offer your audience. Nail that down first.
